A national program with a local impact

Common Good RSVP volunteers are a part of a national movement of like-minded giving back to their communities – and have been since 1971! Today, nearly 450,000 RSVP volunteers serve more than 60,000 public and private community agencies across the United States.

The RSVP program is a part of the Senior Service Corps and is operated under the direction of the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency.

In addition to RSVP, the Senior Service Corps includes the Senior Companion Program through which seniors visit elderly people who need assistance with some chores and errands in order to live independently, and the Foster Grandparent Program which provides opportunities to help community organizations meet the needs of children and youth. Together, these programs involve over one-half million seniors in service across the country.

Common Good RSVP is sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Winona. The program serves people of all faiths in eleven counties in southeast Minnesota – Brown, Blue Earth, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Nicollet, Olmsted, Rice, Wabasha, Waseca, Watonwan, and Winona.
